ALPHA BANK CAMPUS

ALPHA BANK CAMPUS

Two adjacent but originally independent buildings were unified in 1958, following the establishment of the Ionian and Laiki Bank, under the supervision of architect Konstantinos Kapsampelis. The landmark Ionian Bank building (45 Panepistimiou St.) was constructed in 1913, in the Adams style, by an English architect in collaboration with Anastasios Metaxas. The Laiki Bank building (12 Pesmazoglou St.) was completed in 1927, also based on designs by Anastasios Metaxas. In 2005, restoration works began following a study by architect and conservation specialist Alexandros S. Kalligas, returning the buildings to their original form. Today they operate as part of the Alpha Bank Campus, located in Block 19 between Stadiou, Panepistimiou, Korai, and Pesmazoglou streets. In addition to housing the bank’s central services, the campus hosts cultural and educational activities that highlight the bank’s numismatic collection and art collection
