A traditional Athenian townhouse in Mets, dating from the early 20th century, was transformed into a contemporary home for a young couple. Designed and constructed by Lowfat Architecture, the project preserves the original architectural layout and key elements, while introducing linear chestnut wood cabinetry and a freestanding kitchen island to redefine the everyday living spaces facing the street. The house opens to a backyard, allowing gentle transitions from the privacy of the bedroom to semi-open and outdoor areas for rest, work, and intimate gatherings with friends.
