OPEN OFFICE

Thomopoulos Architects, based in Athens, was founded in 2000 by architect Dimitris Thomopoulos. Over 25 years of continuous practice, the office has been awarded in national and international competitions and has received numerous distinctions for its realized work. The studio’s main activities include architectural design and project supervision across projects of both small and large scale, ranging from private residences, hotels, and office buildings to large urban and cultural complexes. A particular area of focus for the practice is the restoration and extension of listed and historic buildings. The office’s design principles are rooted in innovative architectural approaches that address constructional, social, and environmental issues, while focusing on the unique characteristics of each project and respecting the historical evolution of the city and the preservation of its landscape. Alongside his architectural practice, Dimitris Thomopoulos is an Associate Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
