MADE IN ATHENS

Theodore Psychoyos Studio focuses on functional art and architecture arising from a sensitive use of reclaimed materials. The studio primarily investigates marble—its formation, extraction, and natural transformations under the influence of water, light, and moisture. ‘Found stones’, often discarded production offcuts, marble end pieces, and broken fragments, are recovered from factories and old quarries and reimagined anew. The studio makes minimal modifications to these materials, choosing instead to preserve the traces left by human processing and natural erosion.
By combining polished surfaces with raw stone, the resulting works embody an aesthetic that is at once primal and resistant to embellishment. These seemingly heavy, immovable objects are deliberately conceived to alter the way people move through space, compelling us to renegotiate our relationship with the surrounding environment.
