CULTURAL CENTER OF CHURCH OF GREECE
The Church of Greece Cultural Center occupies three restored buildings of the former 401 Military Hospital, remnants of the historic 19th-century barracks of the 1st Infantry Regiment. The stone buildings, influenced by French military architecture of the period, operated as a military hospital from 1897 until 1971. Their restoration and adaptive reuse were designed in 2012-2013 by the architects Antonis Touloumis and Nikos Dourampeis, in collaboration with the architect Panoraia Kaprinioti, and completed in 2024, transforming the complex into a cultural hub that houses the Holy Synod’s historical archive, a library, and spaces for exhibitions and events.
